ABC Cultivation System
A future-proof cultivation system
Currently, growers all over the world grow in the same way, which is unsustainable in the long term. Our ABC cultivation system is aimed at maximizing resilience at an early stage of plant development in addition to managing the spread of diseases.
Developed in close collaboration with scientists from Wageningen University & Research (WUR), our cultivation system achieves a higher yield, obtained in a sustainable way with less chemicals and pesticides and a more efficient use of water.
Although originally developed for banana cultivation, the system can also be extended (in an adapted form) for various other types of tropical fruit.
How It Works
Smart Sensor Technology
Our sensors measure, among other things, light incidence, soil moisture, temperature and the presence of nutrients.
Advanced Cultivation Method
In the standard version of the system, the plants are grown in substrate during the growth phase and placed under nets as required. They are supplied with water, nutrients and additives by means of an irrigation system in which the frequency and quantity is determined by the data gathered from the sensors.
The source water is purified with UV light and filters before it goes to the irrigation system.
AI-Driven Intelligence
The information recorded by the sensors is collated and compared with our (AI) models, providing us with the knowledge to understand precisely what each plant requires, regulating optimal nutrition, moisture and light for healthy development and growth of the plant and thus the harvest.
Our tests clearly demonstrate the plants develop exceptionally well using our 'intelligent' solution whilst simultaneously using less water and less pesticides.
